Let your credit card holders know where you will be. If you do not, they may getover protective and not allow charges. There are ATMs at Sky Islands Grill & Grocery in Rodeo, NM and the Mercantile in Animas, NM.It is a good idea to bring cash.

Time Zones are weird. Rodeo, NM is on Mountain Daylight Saving and Portal, AZ is not. All events are scheduled on New Mexico time.

If you are planning to go 'herping' in Arizona and or New Mexico, you will need a short-term license from each state. You can do this on line. Print a copy and put it in your wallet or glovebox. Game and Fish in both AZ and NM have been checking vehicles regularly during our events.

The Hidalgo County Sheriff has been checking for wearing seat belts and speeding. Officers will write a ticket for any speed over the limit so watch for posted limits as they change along NM 80 where it is not obvious.

Gas and diesel are available 24-7 (pay at the pump) in Animas, NM andRoad Forks, NM (Exit 5 from Interstate-10)). We recommend that you stop in Willcox, AZ or Lordsburg, NM and fill up your tank and your coolers.

There is good cell service in Rodeo with AT&T and Verizon.

Always travel with plenty of water. We recommend a minimum of 1 gallon.
