Myrtle Kraft Library
Did you know that the Friends of the Myrtle Kraft Library pays the monthly Columbus Electric bill for the post office, library and bookstore? Yup, your donations pay those bills, keeping all three buildings open and operating. **
Recently, the Friends of Myrtle Kraft Library made a sizable donation to Apache School so they can purchase books. Our goal is to enrich the curriculum and enable students to explore interests outside of the classroom.
We also have a small team of volunteers who help keep the library running.
*Rene Donaldson mans the library, keeping it open when Kathleen is away. She contributes her time and expertise and is our most senior volunteer.
*Brenda Schmidt oversees the bookstore, soliciting for new selections, shelving, and rotating books. Mary & Jon Lacey open and close the bookstore.
*Tony Donaldson installed centralized lighting for the bookstore, assessed the library's air circulation needs and more
*Volunteers, who do what needs to be done without wanting recognition. They water the trees, pull invasive weeds and more. Your membership donation will go, in part, to Friends installing an irrigation system to make watering easier.
