 Sewing & Crafting

This “Sewers, Crafters and Artisans” group usually meets the 1st and 3rd Sundays each month, from noon to 2:30 pm (AZ), in the Portal Rescue Classroom. Check the Community Calendar page to see when the next meeting will be  held.

  • Bring any projects you want to work on
  • Bring a friend
  • Bring a show and tell of something you’ve made
  • Bring your own scrap bag

Community Quilts

Community Quilts meets weekly, on Mondays from 10 to 12 (AZ) to make quilts for children. Locations to be determined. Anyone with a desire to help is welcome. There will be opportunities to learn to quilt as we work as a group to make comfort quilts for kids going through tough times.


Our first meeting is Monday, January 6.  Anyone that has children’s fabrics they would like to donate are asked to contact Marilyn. 


Our Community Quilt dates are the following, all times are 10-12 (AZ).

January 6, 13, 20, 27

February 3, 10, 17, 24

March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31


In consideration of the use of Portal Rescue’s Classroom:

All persons who attend functions in the Portal Rescue Classroom are expected to exercise safe personal behaviors (such as carrying flashlights for nighttime events, avoiding trip hazards, and being watchful for snakes). Attendees assume responsibility for their own safety and for any damage personally attributable to them.
